I live in Baton Rouge, but work in St. Charles Parish (very near the New Orleans airport in Jefferson Parish). Despite roadblocks and flooding, we were able to get to our building and had corporate HQ send in plenty of water and a 55 kilowatt generator to power up the building.
I can't call this item proof that there was a race or class issue going into play, but it damn sure proves that if somebody had actually tried to do something to help they could have succeeded.
