Anyone watching MSNBC? Who was...
I just walked back in the house and MSNBC was showing some footage of an official crying on TV. He said "for God's sake, just shut up and send us someone". Anyone know who the guy was?

2. Aaron Broussard, Jefferson County Parish President
He was on MEET THE PRESS talking about FEMA refusing water and cutting off emergency phone lines, and how one of his aides' mother died because they couldn't get to her to resuce her.

13. We need to start a thread about FEMA cutting the only working communicatio
n lines, refusing water from Wallmart's trucks (loaded with water) and refusing the distribution of fuel delivered from the Coast Guard.

This needs to be verified and EXPOSED!

Why would this happen?

MR. AARON BROUSSARD: We have been abandoned by our own country. Hurricane Katrina will go down in history as one of the worst storms ever to hit an American coast, but the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina will go down as one of the worst abandonments of Americans on American soil ever in U.S. history. I am personally asking our bipartisan congressional delegation here in Louisiana to immediately begin congressional hearings to find out just what happened here. Why did it happen? Who needs to be fired? And believe me, they need to be fired right away, because we still have weeks to go in this tragedy. We have months to go. We have years to go. And whoever is at the top of this totem pole, that totem pole needs to be chain-sawed off and we've got to start with some new leadership.

11. I didn't catch his name the first time around
It was only a short clip. He was critical about the Feds having press conferences and then he just fell apart.

10. Just had to get up and pace the room for a minute
I'm really losing it here. That was not a poor black man crying on TV, that was a white man. He called this the greatest abandonment of humanity in U.S. history (paraphrasing). Please, people, help these poor souls. Stop letting the governement lie to us. Is there anybody out there?

12. Seriously, I think its to the point that we have to do it ourselves
The Feds are one huge clusterfuck. The only person getting things done at the Federal level in N.O. is General Honore. The rest of these people in outlying areas are fucked. It's going to get to the point that individuals and other cities are going to pack up their own shit to go help.
