State Dept has not accepted any of the offers of aid, money, help, machine
s, doctors - from all the other countries.!!!

"have to be sorted through to see what is needed".

Bullshit. They're holding back so they can see which countries they
can snub, when the people of this country desperately need the money and physical help.

Dereliction of duty.

2. Canadians are already in the house
There are rescue teams in Chalmette and Royal Mounted Police are helping outlying areas. Sounds like they just crossed the border and jumped right in.

6. I don't know about the Mounties

but the Canadian rescue team from Vancouver went in after the BC provincial gov't offered their help to the Louisiana state government (the offer of the team's help previously made by the Canadian gov't to the US State Department had been turned down, IIRC).

Being the cynic that I am, I suspect one important factor in the US turning down foreign assistance is they don' want "ferriners" in the area to photograph and report back to foreign media on the real extent of the disaster and the loss of life.

4. This is like the movie Brazil! WH does not want private corporations
contracted with rescue or clean-up to be outdone by government organizations from around the world.

They diminish federal agencies to make them look incompetent..and all their plans will come apart when international government rescue operations come along and show quality & efficiency & capacity & professionalism.

This is ****shit!

5. They have FINALLY asked EU and NATO for help. Only took
repeated offers of help and one week but the first aid from Europe must be arriving any hour now.
