Why is so much of the media calling bullshit now?
Did they just get their vision back? At least Mother Nature can be partially blamed for the mess in the South. The Bush admin owns the mess in Iraq.

Is it because the suffering is at home and they can't turn a blind eye? Did they take a refresher course on the role of a free press? What?

6. That's my take on it, too.
That and the fact that Junior appears vulnerable now, as does KKKarl. The M$M sees a chance to reassert itself. They've lived in fear of these criminals, too. Some are complicit. Many are afraid. This is their opportunity to tell the truth. They're taking it.

2. A better-late-than-never statement of the heartbreakingly obvious
is what nowadays passes for "investigative journalism". No heroism there.

The bullsh!t reprieve was short lived. They are going back to calling less of it and allowing excuses.

4. There are many people who cannot think about more than one
possibility at a time, so they can't hear what we've been telling them for a long time. They can't hypothesize beyond the next few minutes, so there's a lot they can't comprehend until they experience it. The problem with that is that, like that smoking gun they like to talk about, it is tooooooo late then, especially with systems as large and chaotic as the global climate.

14. The reason is not Karl Rove. The reason is they can't hear and feel it....
That is until they see it up close and personal, with their own eyes. Even Fox News never expected to see it. They probably never WANTED to see it. Kkkarl Rove is a propaganda fascist, but he did nothing but pay people off, while controlling what the media sees and HEARS did almost all of the work.

7. The real powers behind this thing are just going to ride it out while . .
while BushCo goes down. They're pretty much finished with him anyway, because they got their military bases on Iraq's oil lines.

8. Because Katrina changed everything
The misanthropic attitude of the neocons is now plain for all to see. Most have taken the lesson. If the media want to people to tune in, then they better realize this. Of course, some in the media are as appalled as we are. Bush is in deep, deep trouble.

11. Well here's my reasoning for it all....Its going to sound really sick...
And its completely inexscusable and incompetent.

But, the corporate media was brainwashed by neocons including Judith Miller. They were swallowing any of the shit that comes out of their mouth.....They believed EVERYTHING was exactly as these people said it was, because they couldn't get into the area and see the results for themselves.

So all this time, they've been reporting about the rosy Iraq and roses since that's the scenario Rumsfeld shot out everywhere. They saw the green zone, and thought well everything's good for the most part lets get to entertainment...

But nobody, and I mean almost no reporters were ever ALLOWED outside of the green zone to see what Iraq was really like...... Except for Judith Miller and stooges.

So they played photo-ops, played the corporate media like a harpsichord and never dreamed or imagined there was over 100,000 dead over there and war crimes happening every other day. They couldn't see. Therefore they couldn't feel, no one could feel what was going on.

It was **THOUGHT** that this type of brainwashing would work indefinitely, for Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rove's plans. But finally, it fell apart when some reporters got a taste of reality.....

They got to see what was actually happening in Iraq, and became terrified so at first it was subtle. Then....back to the usual suspects.

Then after all of that, it finally wiped out over 2000 of our forces and they began to SEE what had happened. Then what happened in Iraq, happened in Louisiana. Reporters were there first hand, on the ground for first person accounts. There was no buffer. There was no Judith Miller propaganda, no experts.

This was REAL and they were actually there in the disaster zone and they finally realized......This was all REALLY happening! The most incompetent reporters began to catch on and see, oh these people were fascist criminal bastards! Everything they ever said was a lie. There should be consequences for all!!! And so, by being touched through humanity, through being there outside the actual green zone.....They WOKE up from the brainwash. And said enough is enough, no job is worth this. And I bet they are planning contingency plans and are going to nail them as long as possible, I think that's the real reason. The disconnect with the media was with them being displaced, far away and not directly INSIDE it. And so the disconnect with the people found it in the media and painted things opposite...disconnected reality.

Wish it wasn't so harsh but that's why the corporate empire figured out what real News is.

12. Because the SAW it with their own eyes, and so did we....
The Neocons know exactly what they are doing by keeping visual images
of Iraq away from Americans. Pictures have power, and are indeed worth
at least 1000 words. Most of the press doesn't really get the magnitude
of distruction in Iraq. Nor do most Americans.

The situation in New Orleans got out of their control. The media was on
the ground and in the air and Bushco didn't anticipate it.

13. Because Iraq's over there, and NOLA is here ...
... journalists, and most Americans I'm sorry to say live by the 'out of sight, out of mind' principle ... and since 90% of the population has never been to Iraq and probably can't find it on a map, it's a vague notion of a 'war or something' ... not concrete images of devasation and death and dead children and disease ...

Even though those things exist in everyday Iraq - and Afghanistan - Joe and Jane Sixpack seem to only register a connection with things tangible that happen in their own backyard.
