Other Democratic Leaders should do what Gore just did
Al Gore watched the same footage as we all did and he used his resources to help transport over a hundred hospital patients in critical conditions to Tennessee.

He didn't grant interviews. He didn't waste time with self congratulatory press conferences.

He simply walked the walk.

fair in 2000

2. I posted the same thing on some other thread
that I can't find.

You're right, that is exactly what Democratic leaders should be doing!

Recommended.

6. Yup. Dems need to walk - not talk. No talking at all or GOP will turn
it political. Just as they are doing. Taking action like "investigation into Katrina" and leaving it at that. Leave the GOP & the President to answer the people of this country.

Haven from fury Mercy Flight Brings Evacuees to ET

Gore accompanies about 140 arrivals from New Orleans but declines to take credit

By ROBERT WILSON

(snip)

About 140 people - mostly elderly and infirm - arrived Saturday at McGhee Tyson Airport on a chartered mercy flight from hurricane-ravaged New Orleans, welcomed to East Tennessee by a bright sun and a host of medical professionals straining at the reins to help their fellow human beings without regard to whether they were on the clock.

The displaced hurricane victims came to Tennessee on a hastily arranged flight, accompanied by doctors and carrying whatever they had in boxes, bags or, in one case, an old suitcase tied up with rope.

Former Vice President Al Gore arranged the flight and was on board, but he declined to take credit for the airlift, fearing it would be "politicized."

12. Where's the media on this story? Bush STEALS the Presidency, and proceeds
to do all he can to destroy the nation. Wouldn't it make a nice lead story to push for a day or two to contrast the massive criminality and incompetence of the thief with the actions of the man America elected President in 2000?

19. Gore doesn't want the media to be on this story
He is not Bush, he is not Clinton. He doesn't like the spotlight, doesn't like the media (for good reason) and this is not a photo opportunity, anyway.
