Open Letter to the Religious Right
Open Letter to the Religious Right

Now that the entire world has watched the citizens of New Orleans
die in the streets begging for water while
the sociopath running this country strums a guitar, the Secretary of State buys Ferragmo shoes, and the V.P. vacations in Wyoming,
what do you have to say about this good 'Christian' man and
his cronies?

Are you going to continue defending the indefensible?
Will you pat yourselves on the back as you collect used clothes and a few pennies for the victims of this disaster?

You, that voted for this depraved administration share responsibility
for their criminal negligence. I hope God forgives you, but I don't
think I can.

** I'm sending this to my local paper but I'll be surprised if they print it.

4. Neither Christian Nor Right
Just a bunch of backwards thinking,
hate spewing, fear mongering racists
who think that religion gives them
some kind of right to act like assholes.

9. I wish Nero and his family
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 03:16 PM by Jawja
and the leaders of the ChristoFacist movement (Dobson, Falwell, Robertson, et. al.) would just DROP the "We are FINE Christian people" act and admit what their philosophy really is.

There was nothing resembling anything about Christian theology in the government of Nero's response to this disaster. There was nothing CHRISTIAN about their invasion of Iraq, either. But the probable deaths of thousands of America due to the inaction of their government have exposed their true feelings about poor people in particular and American people in general.

I wish they would just come right out and say that their only interest in any kind of "religion" are the votes they get and the wars they can bring about because of it. After all, religion has played a big role in keeping a good portion of the public behind the criminal invasion and occupation of Iraq.

Their philosophy is winning at all costs in a system of unregulated capitalism, control of resources (including illegal drugs), and using military power to achieve its end. They very MUCH believe in Darwin's theory of "survival of the fittest," and they really believe that some "intelligent design" chose THEM to be above and better and more fit and more deserving than the rest of us.

I would respect their organization more if they would just come out and say that they intend to control the wealth and resources of both the U.S. and the world; they respect no government or judicial system in their path (including the one they've sworn on the Judeo-Christian holy book to uphold); they intend to use all power at hand - including nukes - to get it; and they intend for the white MAN, under their control, to dominate the planet to the point of causing or hastening the die-off of others.

7. Yeah, really. Where are Robertson and Falwell and Roberts?
Sitting in their mansions counting their money, no doubt. Oh, and spewing hate, as they always do.

12. If they even do that in the first place.
The American Family Council has even come out and said that God destroyed NO to get rid of all the "sins" there, and that it's actually a good thing now that NO is free of gays, abortion, gambling, and other "sins." They went on to say that it's important for Christians to stand up against and fight sin and corruption, and that God gave them a good start with NO. I fucking kid you not. I should have known it would only be a matter of time before these fuckwads, who are NOT true Christians, would start in with their "God's judgment" bullshit instead of doing everything they could to actually help people.

I don't know what bible these idiots are reading, but it sure ain't the one I know! I thought Christians were supposed to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable, to give aid and help to people in need no matter what, etc., etc. Silly me.

6. Pat Robertson
is making a fortune. FEMA put his Operation Blessing right there at the top of the list of trustworthy charities to help hurricane victims.

8. How much of the Operation Blessing donations go to him directly, I wonder?
I believe they call that an upside down charity. Didn't he do the same thing with some African charity that was really going to finance diamond mining or something?

11. Which is why I wouldn't donate to them...........
the Louisiana State Hurricane relief fund got my dollars. Robertson doesn't deserve the air he breathes, let alone Hurricane relief money.

Not one dime to ANYTHING those crooks and lairs are connected with.

10. But at least gays can't marry........
that's the important thing. The religious wrong have made sure our society is safe against THAT deadly threat. Can you imagine if this had happened and gays WERE allowed to marry? Total choas and catastrophy would ensue. Oh.......there's chaos and catastrophy anyway, isn't there. :eyes: Never mind.

I have to fight the wingnut religious radio stations to hear a local npr program, some nights I just give up in disgust. Since that fucknutz bolton was first put up they've been screaming up or down vote up or down vote.
It's going to be interesting what they're screaming about tonight.
