Condi should be INSULTED and should resign immediately!!!
I just finished watching her press briefing in Alabama, in which she was trotted out to give Bush cover in the whole flap over whether or not he cares about Black people.

The fact that the man cannot stand on his on record is very telling, the fact that he had to prop Condi is just appalling. Thinking about it, she is the Secretary of State and she is being used to answer for his domestic agenda.

Clinton would have never thought of asking any of his Black cabinet members to give him cover, but come to think of it he would have never had a reason to.

2. that assumes Rice isn't a willing participant...she is and that's why
she isn't insulted.

Rice is every bit as bad as Bush.

14. All right, no slapping...
Maybe someone could gently pour a pureed creme pie on her...

Non-violently, of course. Screw her.

5. One difference: Clinton's people did *only* the job they were appointed to
And they did them right.

Bush's administration is full of inept glory hounds.

How many times did Undersecretary of Defense (Wolfowitz) get out there and talk about foreign policy? That was supposed to be Secretary of State Powell's job.

Can you even name one Clinton Undersecretary of Defense??

12. I missed it thankfully. I am so disgusted any time I see any member
of this Administration. Contempt and rage.

These people, the entire Administration, the idea that we will have to be governed by them for 3 more years seems completely untenable.

I wouldn't trust them to put up a stop light, let alone anything else.

They get to make decisions to determine how NO gets cleaned up and rebuilt? No fucking way.

They get to make decisions on how to deal with the 100,000's of people who have displaced - considering the compassion, empathy and wisdom they have shown so far? No.Fucking.Way.

16. I think it is incredibly telling that Condi provides cover.
Racism was not the sole motivator in the inaction of this administration. The class gap is more important to point out right now. Racism may be what motivates individual assholes to call looters common criminals, but the motivation behind allowing this suffering comes from a complete disdain for those without money. I believe that if there were poor white people standing on the levees the response would be the same. Racism is why black people are poorer. Policy toward poor people is why this administration is so heartless. It's no secret that white republicans tend to have racist tendencies so to me racism isn't the shocker here. The fact that Condi stands beside them is less a factor of her race and more a factor of her wealth. If she quit in disgust she would still be wealthy. If she took off her $1000 shoes, rolled up her $1000 sleeves and rescued someone, then maybe she could claim an understanding of the suffering.

Please don't misunderstand me, I believe racism is alive and well today but racism is yet another dividing line that will be shoved into a human tragedy to divide those who suffer and those who truly empathize with them into seperate categories. Racism was never a natural phenomenon. It was fostered and created in the beginning of this nation in order to keep the poor divided, that they may always be conquered. Please read Howard Zinn's "A People's History" for more info on that topic.
