3. She cracked
Shot up half of New Orleans with a sawed off pump-action shotgun. Was last seen looting a liquor store, wearing brand new Air Jordans and had a 26" HDTV strapped to her back.

I know, that was in poor taste. I haven't seen her. Maybe she needed a couple days off

Heck, it's Bush's America -- could you really blame her? Besides, it'd make for some great TV....

5. Her last report from a highway in Louisiana
she mentioned really needing to see her loved ones. My bet is she has a few days off. There are many reporters that are going to need counseling after this as well as many Americans not in Katrina.

9. CNN brought in their war correspondents
...and pulled the "normal" journalists out. Nic Robertson, Karl Penhaul and Jeff Konangue (spelling?) are reporting now from New Orleans. These are guys who normally report from Baghdad, Africa or other third-world and war-riddled countries and who can deal with the realities on the ground. They never ever in their lives dreamed to do such reporting one day on US soil.

10. I think it was really traumatic for her. The situation deteriorated into
another specialization of journalism - war reporting. People who do that have the psychological fortitude to stay away from danger of all kinds.

She did some important stuff. She deserves to step out of it and get some rest.

12. I haven't seen John Zarella, either
Since he was stuck on the roof of one of the hotels.

I did see Jean Meserve in Baton Rouge. She was amazing.

16. She said she was leaving because she wanted to see her family again.
I kid you not! She told the truth. That means she's outta there!

Peace.
