Did a guy from the Army actually say this?
Sorry, haven't been at the computer for a bit,
I was at my parents again. Don't know why I bother,
this time my mom was watching Faux AND reading 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America (And Al Franken Is #37). She's beyond talking to at this point.

Anyway she said that some big wig from the Army said
that the Army WAS ready to help immediately after the storm, but that the storm had taken a path that they didn't expect, so they were in the wrong place at the time.

That's me paraphrasing, but you get the idea.

Did he actually say that?!?! Total B.S. if he did.

4. Yes, I heard this on CNN about 2 days ago, I think
I also remember him saying that "you go where the storm go"

This interview took place very early in the morning. I think the anchor on at the time was S. Obrien. I can't remember all of the details but I do remember a soldier saying this...

5. What does that even mean?
Of all the half-assed disruption attempts of the last few days, this one takes the cake for sheer incoherence. WTF are you even talking about?

10. ??????
I'm collecting every piece of what I believe to be
disinformation I find. If the guy actually said
this, then it was most likely a lie and I want
to add it to the collection.

9. It took the EXACT path
Can you not sit weather maps in front of her? Friday...
Saturday... Sunday... KAPOW!!! Whether somebody said it or not, it's complete crap anyway. The hurricane would either have hit New Orleans with the results we've got there; or hit slightly east or west with the results we've got now. There is no way they shouldn't have been prepared for New Orleans. The MS coastal devastation, maybe, but not New Orleans.

13. Exactly... for two days I watched Katrina over on the Wunderground...
lurked in the blog are as well... it was in the news and the closer it go the more in the news it was. Yes, there was some uncertainty of exactly where she'd hit and exactly how strong she'd be (just as with EVERY hurricane INCLUDING the ones for Florida last year where help with there much faster). There was however also plenty of time to adjust as the cone (hit area) narrowed it's field and get repositioned IF they actually HAD been that close... but... where did Bush call all the NG from again? :grr:

12. The John Wayne dude said something like that this morning
Sorry, don't remember what channel, I was surfing around, but I know it wasn't on Fox that I heard it. What he said was, something to the effect that "These things take time. We don't just march in as soon as the storm has passed. We need time to get the bodies together. We had ready packs of medicine ready to bring in and it was fairly close but what you do when you see this storm coming is move your equipment out of the area and wait." He was implying, IMHO, that they didn't want the rescue vehicles to be hit by the storm and that they didn't even begin mobilizing personnel until well after the storm had passed. Paraphrased, of course.

He might be getting stuff done down there, but he is an ASS!
