JEEZUS, STFU dumb@$$ FREAKS about victims "too dependent"
I get the urge to KILL when I read a post (on other boards) by one of these pathetic wankers running his dumbass yap about how the victims are "products of a nanny state," "dependent on others throughout their life" and that's "the problem" here, they're "helpless."

First, bozos, do you have the capacity in that stump of a brain stem to imagine having your entire living situation, your entire means of livelihood, all of your clothes, everything you possess including your home and car, WIPED OUT in the flash of an eye? And not only that, but to then be thrown into a mass of other humans in the exact same situation? Y'know what? You ARE helpless. Cause we're talking about a natural disaster here, with no food, no water, no electricity, no NADA as far as the eye can see.

The first phrase that comes to mind when I imagine that happening to me (and maybe I have a phobia about it, because I can't stop dwelling on the horror of it) is "dependent on the kindness of strangers" -- what else can you do?

So maybe you're looking at it in the "rugged individualist" way, saying that receiving some kind of assistance from a social service kills a person's wherewithal to carve his/her existence out in the jungle with a pocketknife, to stock up and live on compacted Pouch-O-Food, to hew a shelter out of telephone poles with bare hands? Is that what that ridiculous CRAP means?

So in other words these people should just calmly forage, hunt and gather, be "self-reliant" and stop asking for "help" until the water recedes in about 6 months or something?

so tell me, freaks, if you had short notice (I'll be kind to your limited mental resources and give you a whole 24 hours) and no transportation (no "30-ft boat," like the bonehead on here the other day), no safe place to go within even a 2-day walk, and had to leave your home knowing you might never be able to come back to it, what would you take? what would you do then? I'd really like to hear how someone hoping for some help out of a natural disaster can be faulted for being "HELPLESS." (nonfreaks also welcome to weigh in ;) )

sheesh -- come out of the basement at least once a year.
