My town gets ready for refugees arrival.

My town is a tiny town just outside of Dallas. We are rural, but within commuting distance of downtown. I want to tell some good news in all of this gloom.

The Southern Baptist Church here is the largest. They contacted the authorities that they could accept one bus of people. They have a gym attached to the church that has showers and Sunday School rooms. The Sunday School rooms have been converted to sleeping quarters. Air mattresses with sheets and blankets have been placed in the rooms. Each room is set up to hold one family with kids.

The other churches in the town are coordinating aid with the SBC church. Supplies and volunteers to help have been pouring in.

An area Baptist aid coordinator told me that other nearby towns are all doing the same thing.

The churches are doing this without a single penny of federal reimbursement.

Yes, I have been down to learn what I can do to help.
