NO Police did NOT kill contractors.
Per CNN, they engaged gunmen who had fired on the contractors.

1. I dont know what to believe, the first story from AP or the revised
version put out later. Doubting the "corrected" version at this point--but hoping it is true.

3. It was incorrectly reported at first, but corrected within ten minutes.
Part of te 24 hour news cycle is that first reports will go out garbled sometimes. It's pretty good they corrected the error within a few minutes.

7. Gunmen taking shots at people for the heck of it?
I don't buy it.
Supposedly thousands of NG drove in Friday. Were not talking about the Taliban here. Who in there right mind is going to take shots at engineers, for no apparent reason, while surrounded by NG and police?

8. so why did ACoE confirm it was their contractors?
I don't believe this "corrected story" BS.
of course the contractors or their families might be able to shed some light on it.

10. No contractors killed
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 06:31 PM by SofaKingLiberal
CNN just now, Police were escorting the contractors when fired upon, the police fired back, at least 5 killed, but none were contractors.
