Dems can get it all back if they are up to the challenge.
The are the issues they need to stand up for.

A sincere request for strong conservation efforts by consumers and corporations. Our very lives may depend on it as RW will insist on waging wars for oil.

A cap or roll back of gasoline prices and or profits and/or a tax tax-write-off for fuel for families with EARNED INCOME under $100,000

A roll back of tax breaks for the wealthy.

A roll back cap on credit card interest rates OR AT LEAST put back credit card interest as a TAX deduction for incomes under $100,000.
(This was taken out of the tax code during the Reagan years)

Leave Social Security alone and fix Medicaid.

Getting the hell out of Iraq and spreading democracy and freedom at home.

Real Homeland Security based on a change in our foreign policies that will make us a just and humane partner with the rest of the world.

Reduction in government by eliminating the Department of Homeland Security and putting FEMA back where it was before and by strengthening state and local first responders.

1. Dems should not be afraid to lead on global warming
Which supports your number 1. GW, less dependency on oil, and cleaner air in our cities. It all wins.

2. Um , I don't know what your income is, but....
if you're pulling in 100k a year, you can afford gas.

Tighten your belt. Give up golf or something!
