Puzzled...have the Dem leaders been stolen? Vanished? |
|
I guess I can understand the strategy - the Pugs are doing a fine job taking all amounts of rope and hanging themselves...but only if the media stays on the task (and there are signs that they have been spanked and are swinging back to Rovian terms). But... Dean? Kennedy? Kerry? Edwards? Yes, there have been a few things said...but the silece from the left is really eerie to me. Does anyone else find it just a bit odd? Makes me a bit paranoid that everyone is in on something (meaning the entire gov't has been bought off or is compicit) and we are going to be hung out to dry....

Odd, yes, and forboding... |
|
I expect their silence to continue. I find them to be as cowed as they were after 9-11, and as silent as they were when their candidate, a decorated war hero, was called a traitor. I hate to say it, but their silence is utterly predictable.

...Tim Russert grill Chertoff this morning? He really got him good! Someone in the breakroom at work said that Chertoff looks evil. I agree.

13. Except they won't self destruct. |

They will spin bullshit and misdirection and confusion until nobody can remember what happened. Meanwhile our Fearless Leaders are all hiding under a desk somplace scared, as usual, to take a stand.
They have until Tuesday morning.

6. Maxine Waters is in NO. Dennis Kucinich has spoken up |

against the administration. I haven't heard about any others, but since it's a long weekend, maybe communication sources aren't as good as they usually are during the business week. Clinton however seems to be siding with Bush so I don't know where that leaves Hillary and no one seems to have heard from her.

12. This party needs more prominent truth-tellers. |

Wes Clark has actually done a commendable job of talking about the Katrina debacle--and I say that as soemone who feels that Wes might make someone a nice running mate someday. Gore has been excellent. Dean has siad some pithy things about Frist's push to permanently ditch the estate tax in a time of national emergency. But where are our fine Democratic Senators, indeed? Perhaps Harry Reid's preparing a statement as we speak.
