Idea: Website for Disaster Victums to Find Family Members

Can we or DU set up a special forum and phone number for Disaster Victums to find family members? Can we raise funds for their travel to reunite? Or, is there a member here that has the funds or time to do this? Would be nice if it were linked to the Progressive Democrats in some way.

Ideas, thoughts?

Please post if you think this is a good idea. I heard on either CNN or MSNBC that NO one has set up a phone line or anything yet for this purpose.

2. moveon.org already has one hurricanehousing

and msnbc has one and the www.nola.com site has one

moveon.org has a phone number where you call and can leave a message and if someone knows your phone number and calls in they will get your message - but someone needs to get that message to the many places they have these people stashed

5. Am going to the Veterans Memorial Coliseum

tomorrow where hundreds have arrived today in Phoenix. I will take that info with me...maybe make a bunch of fliers to hand out.
Phoenix is preparing to take 2,000........1,000 in Phoenix at the Coliseum and another 1,000 in Tucson.

I hope I can help tomorrow......Me,Lonestarnot,and Patriot Mom are going to lend a hand.

3. What's needed a site to link all the other sites.

There are sites all over the place--MoveOn, MSNBC, CNN....are they linked, or would someone have to check them all out to try to track down a person?

I do like that travel fund idea.
