Is Geraldo a self-serving media whore or an angel of mercy? |
|
I am so happy that the two elderly ladies Geraldo "rescued" got help but did they really need to be bumped up to the head of the line so that FuckSnooze™ could televise their golden boy saving the day, to the strains of inspirational background music?
In both cases, law enforcement and rescue volunteers were diverted from their other efforts because Fox had located a stranded elderly woman. But these women were not nearly in the kind of dire straits that so many other New Orleansians remain trapped in.
I really am glad the women got help but Fox is shameful, in my opinion.

2. In this disaster, his self-serving media whoredom is effectively acting |
|
as an angel of mercy.
This time, I say, go for it Geraldo!

4. I actually heard the one woman Floritta call in today asking for |
|
help. I heard the whole interview over the phone, and 2 hours later flipping thru the channels, there she was rescued.
It's one way to get attention. I don't remember where I heard it today, but Sean Penn landed and took out a boat to rescue friends that had called him, in California.
I'm assuming, if these people have phones, there first call wasn't to Fox news or Sean Penn. And hell, if it saves them how cares?

8. I heard and saw that, too. I'm glad she got help... |
|
...but it appeared stage-managed for ratings. And with water and food for herself and her dog, and enough medicine to get by for awhile, did Florita's situation warrant the immediate diversion of resources already stretched nearly to the breaking point, for the benefit of NewsCorp?
That's the question I'm asking.

Politicians pose with babies when they're campaigning.
Jerry Rivers poses with babies when Fox is spinning. I don't buy it. I think it was another lame attempt by Fox to make people think their reporters have credibility.
I was at a friend's wedding a few years ago. Geraldo was there too, with one of the bride's young college friends (as her date) who was NOT his wife.

he's also a self-serving media whore. His resume speaks for itself.

but I'd say he's doing good job covering this catastrophe. He seems genuinely affected by this as do most of the reporters on the ground.
Him and Shep didn't spin what they saw the other day. It was impossible for them to do so. O'Dumb Fuck tried to say 'it's under control' and Hannity seemed completely unmoved, but Shep and Geraldo couldn't hold it in.

but if being a whore or an angel gets help to these people, then it makes no difference to me. I did see the video of him the other night, crying and holding that baby, and that was no act. To me, if someone does a good thing, or helps bring attention to something that is going on that needs to be addressed, that's what's important.
