"Bush Promises to Move Quickly on Chief Justice" |
|
A headline from tomorrow's NY Times.
So he *can* still move quickly, I guess. It just depends what crisis he thinks deserves quick movement.

If this doesn't show the world, and especially our country, Bush's priorities nothing will.

5. I think we better move just as quickly |

to impeach him or do anything to get in the way of his appointing anyone. I think all we can do now is disrupt his agenda until 2006 and see if we can't impeach him after the elections. But to allow him to appoint two judges will be impossible to overcome, IMHO.

7. people here still don't get it |

In the minds of fundies, there is a Holocost that continues today as it has for 30+ years - abortion. Millions of babies have been "murdered" and that is far more important than the 10,000 "drug users and thugs" that died in this hurricane and the aftermath. To them, the Supreme Court appointment is the more pressing need and it's not even close. It's truely frightening how they think.

8. You want the motherfucking playbook, here it is. |
|
1. Scalia named Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
2. Roberts confirmed, proves to be slightly more moderate than thought, but still staunchly conservative.
3. Priscilla Owens nominated for SCOTUS. Television advertisements will portray anyone against her nomination as a misogynist. Debate will be hotly contested with her approval banking on party lines.
4. All requiste points made and all political capitial gone, Bush will face a more hostile Congress with investigations on going into Katrina debacle and rumors of the DSM investigation and Able Danger Trial.
5. "For the sake of America," Bush will step down much like Nixon. The fallout from all three scandals very great. Cheney in power, Bush is pardoned and '06, '08 and '10 elections go Democrat with slight Republican gains. Cheney's oil buddies then make it too hard on the Democrat president and BAM, we have another Reagan.
Note: I am not really expecting play number 5; however, I think if things become bad enough then we would see this, "for the sake of America." Of course, code for "the sake of the Republican Party."

 With malice of forethought the ability to deceive is quicker than the ability to perceive the deception and compensate for it. :dunce: :smoke: I feel much better now. :)
