What's the deal ? Bush's jaw wiggles between phrases.
Watching W deliver prepared text, I noticed between phases he shifts his jaw from side to side. At first I did not think much of it, but then I noticed he did it each and every time he came to a pause. It was as if he were adjusting dentures.

FWIW I also noticed the whistle-like "sss" that he often tags words was gone.

Has Bush had some extensive dental work?

4. I just started noticing this, too.
My guess is that it's just a tic, but a pretty stupid one. I think he started it hoping to convey a sense of resolve and toughness, but then it stuck.

9. I just recently noticed that.
The first time I was aware of it was when he nominated Roberts.

Maybe it's a nervous habit? He's had a lot to be nervous about recently...

I can hardly stand to watch and listen to the guy. This new facial gesture only makes it more irritating.

10. I saw that. But he purses his lips between phrases,
which tends to control it somewhat.

I don't think there's ever been anyone this spooky :scared: in the oval office.
