1. While I agree that helping NO evacuees should be our main
focus--I hope everyone is sparing a few brain cells to keep interest on other forms of the Administration's malfeasance.

8. I don't think it's the individual brain capacity at issue here...
But the fact that the national dialogue is being dictated by ridiculously convenient catastrophic events for Bush.

While NOLA seemed to be devastatingly incriminating, it has only seemed to serve to boost his ratings which were at historic lows.

Now that they have complete control of NOLA, they will patch things up and everybody will move on to things like Robert's SCOTUS nomination.

I am tired of these--distractions, important but distractions nevertheless.

Before NOLA, I had decided to personally back off a bit from this madness. I feel strongly that Bush should not escape responsibility for this catastrophe. But what I feel doesn't matter anymore. What most Americans feel doesn't matter. And truthfully, there's not a damned thing we can do about it. We either follow the distraction du jour, or we don't. Everybody has to play by their rules.

5. straw, camel, back
it adds up. a hundred thousand or more people are now officially homeless. soldiers are still dying. the economy is still tanking. gas prices are insane. heating costs will go through the roof come winter. the housing bubble is about to burst...
