The NY Times has an excellent interactive thing up , especially on timing.

On the day by day, it says Bush declared a state of emergency in Louisiana on august 28th, when Katrina was still almost completely in the gulf but had that scary eye.

on August 28th.. wasn't that the day that the Gov sent in her request? So again... WHY then didn't he have the NG, FEMA, etc there and waiting to go in immediately following as he did for last years hurricanes in Florida?

I'm tired of BS excuses and spin... the FACTS were already out there for any American to see if they had even one eye open. :grr:

This is a simple-to-understand incitement of the dead lack of response.

Computer-generated scenarios predicted the levee breaks a day prior to the actual breach.

Anyone can understand what the Times is putting before them here.
