2. "I think they were feeding the president a line of bull also." |
|
Beause when he got here he put a general on the ground and things started happening.
the president told you the governor said she wanted 24 hours to make a decison. Nagin not saying what the decision was about. They were on Air Force one, so this must have been after the President came in.
Gov. Blanco's office declined to come on the show.

6. He just blamed Governor Blanco for a 24 hr delay |
|
He must be talking about this proposal she refused for handing over control of the National Guard. I don't know that you can lay that at her feet.

9. Well he did admit that he doesn't know or remember what the options |
|
were that President Bush talked with the governor about. I would like to point out though that unless we know what those options were we have to reserve judgment on the 24 hours. How does anyone know if the options were going to help or hinder efforts.

10. We don't know what the options were he didn't seem to remember or know |
|
At this point I can't tell even if they were something that could help.

11. Remember he USED to be a Republican! |
|
Before he ran for Mayor...WHO KNOWS what Bush the CRIMINAL said to him or promised him in their "private" meeting.....Maybe Rover had some dirt on him and they threatened him. If you notice they haven't been trying to slime him the last two days, especially after that wild radio interview....You all know you have to notice everything these Bushies do...THEY GOT TO HIM.....he is not to be believed anymore!

8. This is what tees me off about this whole scandal |
|
that the Federal government would WITHHOLD assistance over having CONTROL over operations. I wouldn't blame the governor and the mayor for not wanting to give up all control - the Bush Administration intends to blame them for the entire disaster anyway.

12. This is a lot for one person to handle. |
|
I heard Nagin was a cable executive before he ran for Mayor. I wonder if he ever dreamed he would be in the midst of something like this. I wonder- if he had the help of a big city mayor who had been through a crisis instead of criticism- if he would have done better.
He's a politician suddenly expected to be an emergency management specialist. I think he's done a remarkable job, considering all that.
I'd have been in a blithering heap on the floor days ago.
