Vengeful God sent Katrina, some say
http://www.heraldnet.com/stories/05/09/04/100wir_god001.cfm

WASHINGTON - Steve Lefemine, an antiabortion activist in Columbia, S.C., was looking at a full-color satellite map of Hurricane Katrina when something in the swirls jumped out at him: the image of an 8-week-old fetus.

"In my belief, God judged New Orleans for the sin of shedding innocent blood through abortion," said Lefemine, who e-mailed the flesh-toned weather map to fellow activists across the country and put a stark message on the answering machine of his organization, Columbia Christians for Life.

"Providence punishes national sins by national calamities," it said. "Greater divine judgment is coming upon America unless we repent of the national sin of abortion."

Lefemine is far from the only person to see the wrath of God in the awesome damage that Katrina has wreaked on the Gulf Coast.

2. It looks more like a giant shrimp to me.
It is all those unclean shrimp eaters who brought God's wrath down on us. Read you bible. It says more about eating shrimp than it does about abortion.

6. I think that would be more like Satan. God cares about 100,000 dead in....
Iraq and elsewhere, by our genocidal games. Satan would care about women with abortions and not being allowed to have abortions, and destroying the entire world who oppose abortions.

Global Warming accelerated and created the Hurricaine, and will create more, based on their failure to lust after oil.

It is REVENGE OF MOTHER NATURE, ON BUSH AND HIS CABINET. They can resign, and resign right now. Before it gets WORSE

7. I mean no offense to Christians and Jews...
but how could anyone worship a God who would so such a thing?

This is what led me to turn my back on the religion I was born into. I could not fathom worshipping a creator who would willy nilly kill innocent people to make a point. It's nonsensical to me.

13. "Obey and worship me or suffer and die!"

If that were a relationship between two human beings we'd call it controlling and abusive.

Some folks' version of God really baffles me.

I could never believe in, much less worship, any god or goddess that would be so dismissive of human life.......I was taught as a child that we are all "God's children".........some parent!!!

pre-emptive war with a nation who couldn't defend itself..

"shock and awe" alone is worthy of impeachment and trial for murder.
maybe God was telling us that if we didn't change direction ourselves, then She would make us change direction the hard way.

9. The God That Failed

Pride you took
Pride you feel
Pride that you felt when you’d kneel

Not the word
Not the love
Not what you thought from above

It feeds
It grows
It clouds all that you will know
Deceit
Deceive
Decide just what you believe

I see faith in your eyes
Never your hear the discouraging lies
I hear faith in your cries
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by the deepened nail

Follow the God that failed

Find your peace
Find your say
Find the smooth road in your way

Trust you gave
A child to save
Left you cold and him in grave

It feeds
It grows
It clouds all that you will know
Deceit
Deceive
Decide just what you believe

I see faith in your eyes
Never you hear the discouraging lies
I hear faith in your cries
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by the deepened nail

Follow the God that failed

I see faith in your eyes
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by the deepened nail

Follow the God that failed

Pride you took
Pride you feel
Pride that you felt when you’d kneel

Trust you gave
A child to save
Left you cold and him in grave

I see faith in your eyes
Never you hear the discouraging lies
I hear faith in your cries
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by deepened nail

Follow the God that failed

19. I wouldn't mind so much if they didn't call themselves "Christian".
As far as I remember Christ stands for love and forgiving, not vengeance.

But the main question is, as another poster stated: Why can idiots like this make it into the news?

Remember Fallujah

Bush to The Hague!

These people are such tools. If you believe in God then you know that He/She stated that He/She would never destroy the peoples of the Earth again because of sinfulness. This was a natural disaster made worse by the complete and utter failure of this administration to respond.

Guess that's why all of those churches were wiped out.
Time for them to shape up or ship out.
