1. Wasn't this part of the plot of that TV movie about an energy crisis
in the U.S., together with a hurricane taking out Louisiana? Now all we need is a shipping accident in Houston.

I agree. This is extremely serious. Any drop in Saudi production right now would put the world oil market into chaos.
