So, did Bush play golf during Katrina?
I can't find any evidence one way or the other. Most of the claims that he did play golf came from progressive sites, but I also can't find any denials from the White House. I can't find anything on the subject on a "legitimate" news site. Anyone have a link?

1. I have been looking for evidence of this for days,
but I have not found any. That SS "town hall meeting" he gave in CA was at a golf resort, so I have strong suspicions that he did, but no verification.

2. He definitely played guitar and ate cake
I don't think there are any pics of him playing golf but it was reported that he did while he was vacationing at that CA resort.

5. Do you have a link to any reports?
At this point, I don't care about pictures, I just want to know whether there are published reports that he played golf during the worst natural disaster in American history.

11. Google is your friend
especially now that DU turned off the advance search function because of heavy traffic.

I know it happened. If you need proof go google it.

4. Bush's absence
I don 't know if it really makes a difference whether he actually was playing golf. He wasn't responding to the crisis in the Gulf Coast is the point.

I think he goes into a state of paralysis, emotionally and mentally, and cannot respond until his people tell him what he should be feeling and saying. Numb and dumb.

6. There are no photos but what we do know is that he stayed at
that gorgeous resort in California and it has a golf course as well. I read in an article or column that was posted on DU that he did, indeed, play golf on Tuesday. I haven't found it yet but will keep looking.

7. Funny that the golf story died
It floated around on blogs, and was probably based on something. But, I can't find any reports on it one way or another. Did the White House ever deny that Bush played golf on Monday or Tuesday? Did anyone ever ask the White House?

8. I have read and heard he golfed as Katrina was ready to hit landfall
that was followed by Cake w/ McCain the a fundraiser in Az,
then on to San Diego, then another fund raiser, then the guitar
& WW II = Iraq war speech using the US Navy as a prop,
then back to the ranch for one more night, fly to DC w/ a
fly over of the Gulf South ("It is twice as bad on the ground")
rose garden speech, another speech (this not acceptable ......
turns only the looting was not acceptable), fly into the south
photo ops and hug some negros, and so on.

E-Mail Article
Printer Friendly Version

The National Public Radio news anchor was so excited I thought she'd piss on herself: the President of the United States had flown his plane down to 1700 feet to get a better look at the flood damage! And there was a photo of our Commander-in-Chief taken looking out the window. He looked very serious and concerned.

That was yesterday. Today he played golf. No kidding.
