Guess who goes back to Louisiana and tells people to be compassionate?
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=1097833

Excerpt:

But none of it including a stream of Cabinet secretaries and other high-level federal officials to the area and on the airwaves Sunday has quieted the complaints that Washington moved too slowly in the storm's aftermath.

Aaron Broussard, president of Jefferson Parish, just south of New Orleans, broke down on NBC's "Meet the Press" when he talked about people who waited for help.

"They were told like me, every single day, the cavalry's coming, on a federal level. The cavalry's coming, the cavalry's coming, the cavalry's coming. I have just begun to hear the hoofs of the cavalry …," Broussard said.

"They've had press conferences I'm sick of the press conferences. For God's sakes, shut up and send us somebody."

(SNIP)

"The world saw this tidal wave of disaster descend upon the Gulf Coast," Bush said Sunday during a visit to the Red Cross disaster operations center in Washington, where he urged Americans to donate money, time and blood to the relief effort. "Now they're going to see a tidal wave of compassion."

(SNIP)

Chertoff echoed the White House line saying the time to place blame will come later. But he also hinted at an emerging line of defense, saying federal officials had problems getting information from local officials and were surprised they hadn't been told by Thursday of the violence and horrible conditions at the New Orleans convention center.

Rest of three page article has more.

I'm sure he took Air Force 1 as well... I hope it gets good gas mileage.

1. A tidal wave of compassion? Who wrote that shitty phrase?
You think people who lost their homes and their pets are dead want to hear about some fucking tidal wave of compassion?

:eyes:

I wish I could find an insult bad enough for Bush, because at this point even curse words aren't doing the job.

2. Haven't they suffered enough already?
I don't know if they'll survive a tidal wave of this kind of compassion.

5. They were surprised they hadn't been told by Thurs of the
violence and horrible conditions at the convention center?

Most of America knew it just by turning on the news!

7. So is he going to roll up his sleeves
and help with the clean up, look for those who are lost or tend to the sick? I'll be a believer then. However, I doubt he's going to be let loose among real people. He'll be surrounded ten deep with security and probably with reason. He wouldn't last five minutes as there must be plenty of people beside Mary Landrieu who would like to punch him out.

Sorry Karl Rove, but you're going todream up a whole let more than these stupid photo ops to bail out your boss.
