Papa Bush just compared the lousy relief response to
losing a football game.

He is making a lot of jokes now, and lots of laughter from the audience.

Stupidity and insensitivity must be inherited traits.

Clinton being very serious in his answer. He didn't go along with the jokes. Good for him!

Jyust saying, he DOES know what happened to the money & needs to say it. I'd vote for him again as president if I could. You obviously made an assumption from my post that wasn't there.

34. what happened to the money?
I assume that Bush didn't ask for it and that Congress did not appropriate it. Do you have any more specific information?

35. Bush specifically cut the funding for it
Three years in a row. The Corps of Engineers requested it & * denied it, Tha's what happened to it.

36. Do you have a source for that?
I have heard it here many times but I have never seen anything actually authoritative about it. Did he specifically deny it or did he reduce it?

Did the Corps request it?

What did Louisiana's congressional delegation do? Did they attempt to get it reinstated in the appropriation bills?

It ALWAYS takes both the legislative and the executive to cut funding.
