for strengthening the levee system in NO, but gee, I don't know what happened to them after we left." (paraphrased).

While a lot of folks don't agree with the sentiment, I feel he done good. Real good.

On edit, thanks to Jbond56, you can see it here if you missed it before.

2. He told truth ...
although some would have prefered that he shout, jump up and down, say "fuck you!" to Poppy and roll around on the floor having a tantrum. I think he did damned well.

He told the truth about his record. He did not point fingers although he did suggest that there will be plenty to point fin gers at later.

I agree with you.

3. he did, i liked that
He also, essentially pushed poppy off the podium and took over after poppy made his stupid insensitive comments.

he said "i got your back" to poppy... and i think he meant "let me take over here before you make a bigger ass out of yourself"

4. I heard that!!
HE sounded competant. (unlike all other govt officials on tv these days)

He also took a swipe at congress, that they should push the Estate Tax cuts back and deal with giving aid the hurricane victims.

7. He's been gracious, but unyielding in allowing his admin
to be besmirched by W. It's just that the MSM hasn't juxtaposed the admins very often - have you noticed? Those questions just weren't allowed to be asked until now. And Clinton is just telling the truth about the situation. Good for him.

14. I think he went so far as to say that his efforts on the levees
that were started in "late in my second term" were basically stopped without specifically mentioning that they were stopped by the Smirk.
It was a thinly veiled threat to Smirk that he thinks there should be a "Katrina Commission" and that it would be investigated fully in the coming weeks.

I loved the way he said this all so subtley as Poppy stood there grinning.

I think I just may have to go out and buy The Hunting of the President now....

28. Dazed and confused. What good is Poppy anyway? He looks like an idiot
next to Clinton. Clinton by himself could raise the funds needed. Poppy should go home to his evil wife and let Clinton handle this.

24. He's leading everyone to the marker to be looked at later...
But his first priority is to help the people of NO.

He is making it very clear that he will not be blamed for this, and it is very easy for the country to figure out who should be blamed - George W. Bush & the Republican controlled Government.

He put it out there. Now let's see if the MSM follows up (I'm not holding my breath).

I think WJC is a consummate politician. He knows what to say, when to say it, and when to let others pick up and run with it. IMHO, it was never the DLC platform that won him his Presidency. It was simply his skill as a campaigner and, later on, as a leader.

on edit: grammar
