Why would * want to force Blanco to cede authority of NG? |
|
My first thought is that they wanted to steal something. What would *co have done if the NG were Federalized?

6. They wanted to use this in 06 and 08. I know Karl is thinking that far |
|
forward even if Dubya can't. I will bet you a dollar to a pig with lips that they didn't see a downside to this. If she ceded control they would have said look how us brave re-pukes had to save the donkey asses in campaigns from sea to shining sea. If she refuses well she is clearly hindering efforts. Unfortunately Ray Nagin may have played a unwitting hand in all of this because he was so distraught. But it doesn't matter in the end.

9. number one: do you thing he would EVER cede authority Back |
|
to the state of Lousiana?
I don't think he would ever cede authority back once he had it. So he now has an area in the 48 contiguous states that is under his private, personal control. A beachhead for his dictatorship.

Governors in Mississippi and Alabama? If so, why haven't we heard? If not, why not?
If he did not, it would be more proof that this is all about trying to cover his ass while he let people die.

15. There have been complaints in MS & AL about the slow response |
|
of the Feds, but it hasn't gotten the play that the complaints about NOLA have, because the greater population of NOLA, and the continuing flood make it a much bigger story. The affected populations in MS and AL didn't need to be evacuated to save their lives, so there wasn't the same need for the same response.
So, playing devil's advocate, the Republicans can make a case that the reason Smirk didn't ask the Governors of MS & AL is that it wasn't necessary.

18. I would LOVE to know the answer to that question. I''l bet you |
|
anything the answer is NO. If he had done that, we probably would have heard about it EARLY ON IN THIS DIDASTER. If the press asks the Governors of MS and AL, NOW, they would cover the idiot's ass and LIE and say he DID ask them to federalize the NG in their state. We will probably never know the truth.

28. I think the answer probably is there is 'no need' to federalize the NG |
|
in AL and MS because the white Repub governors are doing such a great job that this step is not necessary. See the picture being painted?

12. Foremost reason: to stop the bleeding |
|
They need to completely control the situation on the ground, in the media, top to bottom. There are still many horrible stories coming out each day that are almost screaming about the negligence of the administration. So they want to stem the flow with concealment and subsequent lies that will be protected by that concealment.
After that, it gets easier. You can manipulate the death count. You can have the EPA wave a magic wand and say everything is squeaky-clean and ready for reinhabitation. But mostly, this gives them the luxury of having all the time and control in the world to make sure that this turns out to be the fault of Nagin and Blanco. They may throw ShortBus Brown over the side, but it will stop there.
That's why they want federal control.

17. OK, a concensus forms... |
|
I'm putting this reply here as a group reply. Thats for the responses.
The demand to Federalize the LA-NG by the * crime machine was a reactive response to criticism of their lack of response. They needed to control the area to control the message and to allow for tghe coverin up of the severity of death, deaths that are a direct result of their inaction. I still believe that there must be more, but for *co to have that level of crime scene control is a compelling reason for the attempted blackmail.
Duzzat sum it up?

of plans and contingencies.. and would have impugniity too. The governor would be in a weakened state too since "she had to call in the feds to take over the largest city in her state" (because she was not capable of running things)..Of course, she is toast anyway, and probably know it, so she has nothing to lose by saying it like it is and bucking the little tyrant) I doubt she could have been elected without the votes of the New orleans dems, and they are now citizens of Texas, Utah,Pennsylvania,Arkansas, and Arizona, so they won;t be voting in Louisiana anymore.. Their numbers, concentrated in one area made them a force..They are diluted, broken people now, whose votes are gone (probably forever) from New orleans..

Say that the Democratic Governor (who also happens to be a woman) was inefective. That way they can blame the debacle on her.
Fortunately the military does not seem to be playing along. Both Honore and Admiral Keating of NORTHCOM see no advantage in a federal takeover.
