Could "Fear of US Govt." replace Fear of Terrorists in Citizen's Minds?
Will Katrina overshadow 9/11 and make it impossible for Bush to say he's making us "Safe" anymore. How can one feel safe when our government has screwed up so badly that thousands of lives have been lost?

What if terrorists had blown the levee in NO? What if another natural disaster strikes?

2. um, the terrorists were our government and we knew it instantly
The "fear of terrorists" only ever happened amongst kool-aid drinkers.

4. I have no fear of the U.S. Government.. I fear the BUSH
administration.
They have misused the government the same way they have misused the military. They have cut vital spending on the very business of government, on the struts and joists that hold our country up for its citizens.
They have siphoned money off to their richest friends, and outsourced the work of government to their friend's companies..and then provided no oversight that the work be performed.

5. Well, that would certainly meet a top objective of the right-wing.
Part of their plan to destroy our nation's system of government is to make ordinary citizens hate and fear it so much they'll just go along.
