Surprising Conversation with a New Orleans resident
who evacuated Sunday am. He said his home is in the 20% of NOLA that was not flooded, and yet, his auto insurance is totalling both his cars he left behind. They are "assuming" they have been destroyed by looters.

BTW, looters is all this man wanted to discuss. When I brought up the thousands of people dying because of no water, food or medicine, he shifted back to it being the "looters" fault.

1. just curious, is this man white?
because I noticed at the Red Cross shelter that the white evacuees assidiously avoided contact with the other shelter residents.

4. well, remember that LA has a Repub governor
he sure didn't get elected by the MAJORITY of NO residents.

I only saw one white family at the shelter, and they were keeping all their new possessions together, and sitting separately from the other residents. Wrong of me, I know, to assume it was racially motivated.

Just a hunch I had based on their body language.

2. the 20% on the hill don't want to have sympathy for the 80% in the
flooded valley. they might start feeling guilty fr being on of the haves. better to think about their possessions and going on about insureance company worries. nice.
