"receiving states" to get federal disaster aid too (all red states)
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 12:53 PM by SoCalDem
the poor people who got "sent" there are the new 'cottage industry" and a conduit for suckling at the federal teat for "storm" money..money that SHOULD go to New Orleans..

This is in addition to what they are getting to "care for the evacuees"

They may have to revolt and walk home if they ever plan to get back to New orleans..they are now a commodity for their "new states".:puke:

just reported on MSNBC..no link yet

"State Sen. Mark Schauer, D-Battle Creek, said the state Legislature is expected this week to pass a supplemental appropriation of $1 million to $4 million to pay the cost of community services that are provided. All of the evacuee-related services provided by the state will be ``billable'' to the Federal Emergency Management Administration, he said."

2. I live in Ohio
Our state is supposedly taking some in and putting them in low income housing. Should have known there was a dollar involved.

3. well now..
.. it's a bit premature to see sinister implications in this.

Let's see how the rebuilding and repatriating back to NOLA pans out first.

Texas, for example, is housing and sheltering well over 200k evacuees. We really need that money, and we're doing a helluva job.
