Howard Dean,Hillary Clinton,Harry Reid,God,the list goes on and on.It's no wonder we are living under a DICK-tatorship. We don't have a party anymore. :argh: :banghead:

Except Gore and Wes Clark at this point.

I wonder if anyone at DNC is monitoring DU for the level of outrage against them.

of making it political but it is political. It's the consequences of right wing politics that let this happen. It's not wrong for them to say this at all if they frame it right. They need to get the seed there before the repukes spin this unmercifully.

In times of a national disaster, do you sit on your ass? Or do you take action? It's like Jabbor Gibson, the young man who stole a bus to save lives. That's a leader.

ya see...it's all a chess game. You have to wait for folks to act.

Wouldn't be prudent to call out lies-- then we'd be politicizing it...

Have to wait and see

Make our plans....

Yup..let's wait.

See, we're waiting... yup...gonna wait some more. We're real good at waiting.

22. The DLC has them under control
The DLC is playing politics as usual. They wouldn't want the republicans to look bad. They have to be a branch of the republican party.

The democrats in congress work for the corporations. The corporations bought them, and they own them. They control them through the DLC.

They have put politics above human suffering. They have put politics above the citizens.

If the democrats had been screaming, water and food would have probably got to those people faster. Those buses would have got there faster. Their silence allowed this to happen. They didn't even back up the governor and mayor.

When the reconstruction money goes to Haliburton instead of a work project for the citizens, you can expect the same from the democrats in congress. Certain corporations will make a killing off this disaster.

80% of the people got out by car. They are in Baton Rough, and Houston mostly. They are unemployed. Yet they will never see any of those reconstruction funds. They have the clothes on their backs, their mortgage payment, car payments and credit card debt. The bankruptcy law will make sure they never recover. If I recall correctly, their congressman voted for it.

A friend of mine said this weekend, "we are on our own" if anything ever happens to us or our city.

23. In their defense...
...none of us, here, know exactly what our leaders are doing under the radar to help the victims. In fact, it would hardly be surprising to find that many of them are working as hard as Al Gore, and where was the news about what he did? I saw only a couple of glimpses of him on TV and two articles in local Tennessee media outlets. What this tells me is that, just because the media cannot possibly avoid shining their light on the chimp's incompetence in this disaster, it doesn't mean that they're willing to treat Democratic leaders' efforts fairly.

26. There's no defense for not speaking out.
The point made about the media not giving any attention to Gore's move to help people underscores my point that unless you openly speak out and loud about the crimes of this regime--you are allowing them to get away with murder. No matter how many good deeds you do-- there are thousands more being killed by the negligence of this government. Use the bully pulpit to rouse the masses.

30. They don't necessarily have the bully pulpit.
Press releases and statements can be tracked at US Newswire. I glanced through the headlines there, going back to September 1, and found, for example, that Nancy Pelosi has made many statements relevant to this disaster. I've yet to hear the MSM mention a single one.

and yell from the street.

Seriously, though-- you take the pulpit-- you demand it-- you force the media to pay attention--to do their job.

Stop playing "nice"

That's how it's done.

25. ??? This thread isn't deflecting blame on the aftermath of Katrina
onto anyone. It's clear the blame is in the regime's lap.

My posts, however, do hold the Dem "leadership"'s feet to the fire for their pathetic politicking and whineybutt silence.

They aren't to blame for the aftermath of Katrina-- they ARE to blame, however-- as are those who support the more of the same conventional wisdom bullshit of dancing to the regime's tune-- for helping maintain the regime and its stranglehold on power in this country.

Oh, it doesn't much matter how many times we post it. Those who have decided they know all about the Democrats will continue to bitch. I think their eyes have glazed over.

I also think that sometimes folks want a bunch of sound and fury, even if it signifies nothing at the end of the day. Someone with a loud voice saying what they want to hear.

Quiet, useful action isn't sexy enough to get their attention.

I got an idea. Why not fucking talk about TAX CUTS? That what Dean did, albeit in response to that horrid excuse for a human being Frist. Maybe somebody could shit on the donations by corporate America.
