Air America - good comments - the framing of the NG and troops help |

by feds as securing an area versus helping an area - and then with the shoot to kill attitude - the getting supplies portrayed as looting instead of lack of help from feds therefore survival - good show so far Laura Flander http://www.airamericaradio.com/listen

Does anyone know if she came in on a day she'd planned to take off? On Friday, Randi said she'd work on Monday if she's needed. I hope she's there.

He's in the Algiers neighborhood-has water, is ok-not a lot of damage.
His family is well. There are about 2000 there now. They have to travel 17 miles to get supplies (ice, water, food) and travel back-someone could be bringing things to them, but it isn't happening.
15 schools, 45 churches there that could be used as shelters.
Up until today, anytime troops around, they think they are suicide bombers. You'd have 2 pointing M-16s at you while one talked to you. "We are the target, not the victim".
When they said people were shooting at the helicopter, they were shooting to let the helicopters know where they are.
Fires mostly out.
Removal of bodies needed-2,000 to 20,000 dead.
Malik Rahim was a Green Party candidate for city council.
Algiers is on the west side of the Mississippi, the unflooded area.
He'll be back after a break, so turn it on and listen!
