How much more power does the chief justice have compared to an associate justice?

2. He selects which justice will write the opinions.
He also is in charge of selecting justices for certain focused lower courts.

4. When a Supreme Court decision is reached -
a majority and a minority opinion paper is published.

The Chief decides who will write the paper for each side.

Has an impact on how the opinion will be interpreted.
