I'm Looking For A NOLA Friend, Need Help With Timeline

We are almost certain to have seen him in a fleeting image in a CNN segment chillingly called "Modern Day Genocide" you can see it on CNN.com.

Our friend is a musician -- he was lying around the Convention Center smoking a cigarette with a guitar case. His name is Barry Cowsill. His family were quite famous in the late 60s/early 70s as the family group The Cowsills. His sister Susan got out of NOLA in time.

My question is this: the footage was originally aired Thursday morning. When did the NG come? And after they came -- they didn't let anybody out, right? What were the conditions to leave that area before the NG arrived. Is it possible he could have walked into the city, that he didn't get evac'd from the Convention Center with everyone else there? That he is holed up somewhere in else in the city?

I am getting so confused trying to look up info and so much is conflicting. Is there a reliable time line about WHAT HAPPENED rather than WHAT WAS ORDERED OR SENT TO HAPPEN?

I'm praying that he was evac'd and just the call is held up or something. I'm lighting candles. I'm listening to his "As Is" CD and Susan's "Just Believe It" CD. If we just believe it...he will call....come on Barry!!

I think I was only gone a year when he died.

I took a B&W photo of him standing in front of Preservation hall during a Jazz funeral. I forget who died. I loved the Olympia Brass band.

He probably makes mention of when he heard of or actually saw N.G. or others on the streets.

My own impression/recollection is that at least most of the N.G. did NOT get there any sooner than Thur. nite; but best to confirm elsewhere.
