They ARE racist and classist
If Bush policies were to be fully implemented and Americans had to totally fend for themselves in all disasters, blacks and minorities (including the elderly and the sick) would get little help.

I can't count the posts here where people have talked about RW relatives who are unsympathetic to the plight of those in NOLA. Why are they unsympathetic? Mostly because of hate mongering and RW radio. I heard a host say the people who complained in NO had a welfare entitlement mentality (Roger Hedgecock for Limpballs) and another host plainly called people who did not leave stupid.

So which states and which people in those states would pick up where the federal government leaves off when the RW perpetrates hate for minorities?

I can only wish for the unsympathetic hate mongerers and their minions who have never have known such tragedy that they be paid a visit by karma--real soon.

1. About 45% of Americans are (and/or) racist, sexist, classist, homophobic..
....of the other 55% there are only a small percentage who are educated enough to understand that it solves nothing when you chose to be 'any of the above'.

2. Agree. The point was, they won't help in times of disaster. We must

have federal government continue to do its job. Maybe this is the one lesson Republicans will learn from all this and finally retire the notion that federal government should be abandoned.

3. It isn't just Bush - the white men who control the Repug party
have, for the past 35 years, not made a single political move/decision that was not based on either racism or sexism. Using those two issues and tapping into that hate vein (esp. starting in the south)is how they took control of the political process in the US.

4. I know what you mean- so much of their rhetoric is *based* on
classism, that it makes all these protestations seem very strange.

5. sociopaths duping the ignorant and arrogant
Has always been and will be.

Lets face it, anyone who doesn't live in a mansion in the Hamptons and/or doesn't belong to the Repubicon party, will be thrown to the wolves.
