Daddy and Mommy protect baby boy on CNN
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 04:22 PM by linazelle
Earlier, Daddykins tried to laugh off things by saying Barbara would pretty much beat up anybody who criticized Bush.

Then, in a later interview, when asked by Larry King about the criticism of Bush, Daddy Bush said this (not exact quote but very close):

Sure I'm not satisified, but I'm just talking about the blame game... there was one particularly vicious comment that the president didn't care was insensitive on ethnicity insensitive on race...

I know this president and I know he does care but what can he do...he can go out and do what he's doing today, showing that hte federal government is involved has been involved will continue to be involved that huge numbers of dollars have been signed off from the Senate and the House and he's got to push forward, he cannot listen continue to listen to every critic from the editorial page of the New York Times."

2. Well, and then there's the 70% of Americans who
don't think Sonny is doing a very good job, either, and that was before Katrina. Your son needs to resign, and you need to get out of the way.

3. "He does care"
See the evidence: Thousands who most likely don't support him are suffering or are dead.

Yep. He cares.

4. If my son kills 50,000 people he knows I *won't* be defending it
I told him so this morning! My very good very kind son instantly said: "I'd never expect you to!" And, I would not defend it. I'd be devastated but I'd never ever defend it.

Guess I raised him right, how about you two criminals. And, lets remember that Babs didn't raise him alone. The old man is an ice cold customer himself

9. Well said, wellstone_democrat, well said!
My mom said to me a few days ago, "How can he not help those people? How can he watch what we're watching and not do everything he can to help?" Of course, I had to reply, "I don't know mom. He just doesn't care."

I can't blame his parents for loving their son, but nothing that they do or say is going to make people start liking their chimp of a son all of a sudden.

12. Yep, my view is they should love him unconditionally
but that doesn't mean being blind to the damage even your own child does and defending it publicly. Its one thing to stand by them, another to go on the road on a PR tour for him. They know he's a cold son of a bitch because they are as well. This is about "dynasty" protection---look how fast they all cut off Jeb's tragic case of a daughter. Last I looked the only person she's killing is herself. But, she's an embarrassment and this murderer isn't?

7. CNN showed that interview right after Clinton
said bluntly the federal govt. failed. It's pathetic when a 59-year-old man needs his parents to bail him out. :eyes:
