Coming up on Lou Dobbs: "Michael Brown. Is he fit to lead?" |
|
I saw the little lettering saying: Is he fit to lead, and immediately thought/hoped they were talking about the Dauphin.
no such luck
so far, though, much of the show has focused on the huge cockup this whole scene has been, so I think it'll be interesting to see just how hard they come down on this horsemilker.

I can't believe the Reich-wing media's actually doing the story.
Money is still bigger than political pressure, apparently. Many people are PISSED about the inaction of BushCo.

11. good point....somebody said that Fox's numbers have gone down |
|
since the storm, cause they're candycoating everything, and CNN's numbers are up
you could be right about that
let's HOPE the numbers do nothing but go up for them, and encourage them to keep up the good work
now....Jesse Jackson's on
Dobbs just axed him why he hasn't criticized the local government, instead of going after Bush
Dobbs is really going after Jackson, regarding local misfeasance, but not buying Jackson's "giving a pass to the governor of the state" for what happened just isn't credible

23. I saw Brown all over the TV last week - was it Wed or Thur |
|
or both. But point is he was giving interview after interview while the crisis was at it's height. Some DU'er posted he must've been on something like 6 hours. That's time away from what he really should've been doing. He was getting skewered on the interviews I saw, and I thought Koppel almost had him crying.
Bet Rove told him to get his damn face off TV except for that damage control bit today. Ain't gonna work. Bet by next month, end of year at latest, he'll suddenly have to devote more time to his family.

16. The question SHOULD be: Bush. Is he fit to lead? |
|
Because once again Bush has shown how his poor choice of appointees have damaged this country. Brown, Chertoff, Bolton, Rumsfeld, Rice, Gonzales, just to name a few.

18. Brown is the first chink in the armor |
|
in the whole Bushco apparatus. The very fact that demands for his firing are being aired, even on the right (Michelle Malkin called for him to be fired) shows that the Blanco spin is failing miserably, and that Bushco will have to offer up a concession. For the first time ever. PUSH, PEOPLE!!! PUSH for Brown to be fired. We already called our senators and rep on this. Do the same, especially if you live in a Republican district. He's an embarrassment and he should be fired, but he's also a prime example of Bush's so-called "leadership style" - the filling of crucial positions with ideologues and cronies. Fire Brown then open up that can of worms. Pick them off one by one. Chertoff will be unable to defend retaining Brown, so he's next.

|
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 05:48 PM by aint_no_life_nowhere
Bush appointed a horse association man. Did Bush not know that Brown was fired from his horse association? Did Bush not know that Allbaugh wanted Brown in FEMA because he was his frathouse roommate? If anything, the President is directly responsible for the screw ups made by his underlings, especially when those underlings are underqualified. That's a notion well-established in tort law at any rate, when applied to companies.
