This one quote from Bush is all you need to know about the man
From Kitty Kelley's book, quoting Bush's macroeconomics professor at the HBS:

"After we viewed the film (Grapes of Wrath), I called on him (the Boy King) to discuss the Depression and how he thought it affected people. He said, 'Look. People are poor because they are lazy.'"

There should be absolutely no surprise at Bush's lack of empathy and action these past few days concerning Katrina. This quote sums it up for me.

11. In our paper today there were some stats on the victims in NO.
Contrary to popular belief that they were mostly on government assistance, only 4.5% were on welfare. 12% were single mothers with an average of 2 children and the average salary was $25,000 vs the national average of $35,000.

Basically, these were hard working people living week to week, most without cars to get out of the city.

Of the 4.5% many of these were most likely handicapped in some manner.

The repigs just don't get it, you can work your ass off day after day, year after year, yet you can never seem to get off the treadmill, especially when groceries, energy and healthcare costs just keep spiraling upward.

5. He apparently missed the corollary

People are lazy because they are rich.

Equally as absurd a generalization, but spot on in his case.

8. Grapes of Wrath should be admission requirement to Harvard, geez.
any level, any program. They should test for having read it. If a Harvard applicant hasn't read GOW, why are they even being considered for admission to Harvard? Their testing should have sorted this guy and any other like him OUT on their application. Oh yeah, I forgot, Bush got in because of WHO he is. legacy, blueblood.

Harvard has nearly as big a problem, and responsibility in this as Mr. 666 if you ask me.

They are showing a film of Grapes of Wrath to an MBA class? Their testing should have been stringent enough to sort out anyone who had not read it, much less not be capable of understanding it.
