Did Gov. Blanco kick the Coward's ass?

That's the way it looks to me, Witt has basically taken charge.

If she did kick his ass, was it because she had Witt to help her? Or did the bushites miscalculate? Or were the bushites making a desperation move?

1. When Blanco brought in Witt

She said he would do the talking for her and that she only hires the smartest people.

2. I think Blanco had a heart-to-heart chat with Bush

In that 90 minute meeting earlier today, I'd bet that Blanco told Bush to call the dogs off (meaning Rove) in their campaign to destroy her and place all of the blame on her. Witt, as of yesterday, works for Blanco. Bush knows he's in trouble and that Witt can get him out of it.

I may be wrong, but I don't think that Bush officials will be blasting Blanco anymore.

3. They probably underestimated Blanco.

Her daughter, Karen, was interviewed on CNN earlier, and she has a lot of spunk. If she got her spunk from her Mom, then I think they did underestimate Blanco.

5. One other thought

In the press conference late today with Blanco, she introduced the Horse lawyer and they both talked about how they were working as a team and they were praising each other.

I think a truce is at hand.

6. Hiring Witt was an absolute master stroke

If it wasn't Blanco's idea, I'd like to know who came up with it. Some intense strategizing going on behind the scenes here, you can be sure. Maybe this was Clinton's way to justify all that public sucking-up he's doing to BushCo.
