I hate when people read things into stuff and then post their interpretation here as quotes.
Yes, KO's rant was damning...but no call for the magic word: Resignation.
Fuck!

25. I took the word of the other poster and fired off an email thanking |

Keith for calling for Bush's resignation. People, when you post something like that the least you can do is say "he implied Bush should resign". Made a total fool out of me, but that's been done before, and I should know better - see it before you respond.

I went to go TiVO it since I had to miss the show this evening, and it's not on the overnight repeat lineup, and it usually IS.

for a special report on the hurricane from the start. I know they censored once in the past three days but that would be too huge. They are cowards and Olbermann wouldn't be silent about that..

it said Storm Chasers was on and I found out too late that KO actually was on at about 8:45, so I saw the rant but missed most of the rest of the show. I've got my VCR set for later, just in case.

I don't believe he did call for Bush's resignation, though. Or anyone else's. He simply said that although we all learn in social studies class that the president is "my" president even if we didn't vote for him, people are now justified in no longer feeling that way.

So nice to see you.
Here's my letter to the Kahuna:
Sir, Allow me to say, above and beyond all previous praise I've had for your work, that as far as I'm concerned this is the moment that the names Sevareid, Cronkite, and Schorr were joined by the name Olbermann. I cannot buy you a beer. I can't hug you. There is no way I can show my appreciation for the fact that as a journalist, you have uniquely, and courageously, performed to the highest standards of your profession. So please read into this simple email a heartfelt and unprecedented (for me) gratitude towards a "newsman" (to use the old and honored term) for a job well done. Best regards,
____________

43. When is the rest of the media going to grow a spine |
|
and call these thugs on their BS?
It seems like * has a photo op and a press conference and too many in the media are willing to believe in their twisted, lying, bizarro version of reality.
If they had any stones, the reporters traveling with him would have put him on the spot and asked him the hard questions with cameras rolling.
Go KO! Explain to your colleagues at MSRNC about the truth.

Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 04:14 AM by Dunvegan
Churchill, deeply troubled by England's lack of preparation for World War II, said, "The responsibility of ministers for the public safety is absolute and requires no mandate. It is in fact the prime object for which governments come into existence."
