a party loyalist who will do what he's told without question. He's inner circle and can be counted on to do the parties dirty work.

Comforting qualities in a supreme court justice.

6. This was the plan all along.. Rehnquist's death just came a bit soon..
and it could represent a window of opportunity to reject Roberts if Dems wake up and utilize it. Even by the standards of some supporters he doesn't have the experience or gravitas to be Chief Justice. Combined with the other flaws coming to light, and it a playable hand for a rejection.

Not that I expect anything like that from the opposition party.
