*WARNING* GRAPHIC photo

A police car drives past a woman's dead body on the sidewalk at Magazine and Jackson streets.

====

Photos of the dead are making the mainstream press now. Has there been a situation in which the America press has shown dead bodies like this before? These photographers will be the next ones sent to Gitmo for a 'vacation' for documenting the truth.

12. I know.
I think of my father's fairly recent death - unexpected and traumatic, but he was cared for in the hospital, his beloved wife was at his side and held him in her arms as he passed.

These people were alone. So alone, as the water rose or the heat seared them.

People must not forget. People must wake up.

17. You are so right
"That is someone's beloved daughter, wife, mama. grandma."

I, too, am still grieving the passing of my mother, almost three years ago.

I cannot imagine what the people of New Orleans are feeling.

I grieve with them.

I grieve for them.

6. When asked my opinion of the Aftermath tonight.....
I responded with a question: What if the folks who were left behind were all Blond White Girls, do you think they would have waited for FIVE Days for Help? You know, at least these poor people will not have died in vain if it means flushing the Bu$hco Cabal from office....shit, I would give MY life for that!

8. I've never seen anything like this in the MSM
in America. Sometimes bodies from a distance. They're more likely to show bodies of people in other countries. I remember some grisly photos during the Bosnian War. But not of American citizens.

It's hard to take, but I think it's good. People must see what was done. So long as you just talk about "bodies", it's easy to just think of someone looking peacefully asleep holding a lily.

Death is not beautiful. Death such as this lady suffered, while her elected government denied and was indifferent and played turf wars?

Hideous.

May she rest in peace.

9. I agree this is a good thing.
Someone complained the other day that children see DU and could be disturbed. I think it is finally time to disturb the adults in this society.

11. This needs to be seen.
I cannot agree with allowing personal, identifiable details being published.

That said, get over it. A picture is worth a thousand words and the American public need to know what has happened. I'm guessing there are 10,000 dead. It's just a number, until there is a visual face to it. These people are dead, and only a photo makes the point to the sadly unimaginative public.

14. You're absolutely right..........
pictures (although heartbreaking to be seen) need to be shown by the MSM. It seems that a majority of people only hear bits and pieces of the "news" in this day and age. Pictures such as these would hit home, so to speak.

13. Sadly, there are many more pics like this and we should look
at them and bear witness that, despite Mother Nature, this didn't have to happen in many cases. This government failed the American people in very graphic ways.

15. I posted the dead folks from the convention center three days ago
They went poof! Someone needs to download and keep them. I wish I knew how. They will indeed hide the number of dead like in Iraq.

:(
