Dem Leadership Is Worthless! |
|
It's been a fucking week! Today they come up with a plan. Sounded good, covered all their bases and had the appearance of being more well thoughtout then the repukes version...well, lack of one.
Meanwhile, FEMA (Fucked-up Emergency Managment Assholes)is in the Gulf Coast fucking up, but they are there. No apologies here. They're doing their damndest to make sure they look like the idiots they are with their 'chickens with their heads' cut off' ways.
The last week, while bush has vacationed, photo-op'd, and shifted blame to the locals and state, where has the dem leadership been?
Yesterday, Hillary came out and said we need a Katrina Commission. Like the last 'commission' did a damn bit of good :eyes:
So here we are, a week later, thousands dead, and TODAY the dems come out with a plan. TODAY?? Give me a fucking break! Where in the hell were they when people were begging, crying and dying for help??
Why didn't one of them come out and get pissed?? The media finally got pissed THREE days after they should have. We were all here getting pissed, cussing, emailing and phoning like crazy to get some help to these people.
At least the fucking media got pissed. The repukes won't get pissed. It wasn't their base that was dying.
The Dem leadership dropped the ball. Talk about how the repukes will pay for this in '06 or '08 all you want. They probably will lose some elections over it.
But, goddamn it, the Dems should have been on TV DAYS ago sounding the horn and making demands on the fuckers currently in power.
Why should the Dem leadership have any power if they are going to do nothing but sit on their fucking hands with their mouths shut???
Yeah, I'm pissed as hell. :grr: People died while politicians did NOTHING!

I agree. I will give the Democratic leadership a few more days. If they do not start to speak out, and speak out forcefully and without being wishy-washy and namby-pamby as usual, then I will realize there really is only one party in this country.

3. Did you read the Democratic Katrina Plan |
|
Please do. linkKATRINA RELIEF PLAN FOR SENATE ACTION THIS WEEK
Although the Congress last week appropriated $10.5 billion for the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Defense Department, it is clear much more will be needed given the enormity of this disaster. While government authorities and others assess the scope of the problem and decide how much additional funding will be needed to address specific problems, there are a number of legislative items the Senate can and should promptly approve that can help Katrina's victims. After the Senate has completed action on this emergency legislation, we hope the Senate will quickly provide significant new funding, and consider other substantive proposals that could help address short- and medium-term needs. These proposals must be followed by a much broader, long-term effort to rebuild and rehabilitate the Gulf Coast region and substantially improve efforts to prevent, mitigate and respond to future disasters.
The following are just some examples of proposals that Senate Democrats believe deserve immediate Senate action this week:
Ensuring health care for all displaced victims
* Immediate access to Medicaid for displaced victims. * No need to prove residency or assets * No copayments * No penalties for failing to sign up for Medicare Part B in time.

8. Of course I read it...but come on...a WEEK????? |
|
What good is this thing? Why did it take so long for them to do something????
Ain't buying it. It's a show...pretense.
I've sat for too long waiting and hoping they'd get off their collective asses. I've emailed and phoned. I've signed petitions. I've talked to people to get them to see the truth.
But if the dem leadership don't do a damn thing when we've got a fucking corrupt and incompetent government, does that mean they should be in power?
What is stopping them from getting out there? What is stopping them from going on TV and pointing their fingers, holding up the proof to the American people?
They DON'T do it.
I'm to the point of changing my party affiliation over their sitting on their asses.

All people see is a silent do nothing democratic party. I can't count how many times that it's said, 'the dems won't say anything because bush and fellow repukes are hanging themselve'.
I've got a question. How much fucking rope have they got????
People are dead because of bush and his minions. Why in the fuck won't any big name dems come out and crucify any of them for it?
John Kerry? John Edwards?
I want a big name dem to come out and say they are crooks and liars. I want a big name dem to say people died. bush and cheney didn't protect ANYONE!
Why in the hell won't they say it??? Could it be they are too fucking scared???

we know that the photo ops were make believe and staged, but they are working. as the dem leadership continues to lose touch, the GOP is doing its talking points crap and regaining traction. whereas we look foolish and without direction. mainly because we have no direction.
Did I mention we have no direction or leadership? Leadership sirection? Direction good. Leadership better. Lead and direct, direct and lead. Lead. Leading, leaders lead!. Directly leading leaders.

It is up to the Federal Government to respond to National Emergencies. It is not what Congress is set up for, nor should it be.
On Monday, the Dems are walking in with a plan and we are going to start taking back our country. All the Repugs have are lies and hot air. Their day is done.

The Dems are very, very angry right now. So are the intellectuals. So are the journalists. Trust me. Big Oil are the proper target.

out of how I can't count how many posts. It's a slow weekend at home so I've had a lot of time to sit in front of my computer.
The ones I did were mostly a few lines.
It's not like I come here on a regularly trashing dems. You can look through all my posts if you'd like once the features are functional.
I am pissed at the Dem leadership. We've got a failure of leadership in the WH...that's not to mention how corrupt and incompetent they are. What makes it worse, we have practically none in the Democratic Party.
No big name democrats are saying what we all know. John Kerry, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton or any of the others are going out and saying those jerks in the WH are negligent. They aren't saying they are liars and crooks. They aren't saying the war is illegal and immoral. They aren't saying they fucked up.
Fact is: They aren't saying much of anything.

35. not sure this is valid ... |
|
first, does the BP'er "just" whine? do we have any idea what else the BP'er does?
second, is it valid to argue that anyone who criticizes their government should either run for office or shut-up? most of us are not confident that we could succeed politically ... most of us are unknown and unfunded ... many of us don't have the personality to go before the public and live such a public life ... are these just excuses? perhaps so but they are often the very real beliefs of many people ... and the truth is, most can't afford to quit their jobs and run for office ...
it's not that there isn't merit to your call for those who are unhappy to do more ... but i just don't know that it's valid to expect those who criticize to run for office themselves ... nor should their refusal to do so diminish their right to be heard on the issues of the day ...

Timing and photo ops. Bush screwed the first one, but is recovering, and he did fine with the second.
Now apply Politics 101 to us, to our leaders. Our timing consists of "Ooooh, let's let them hang themselves"; and, worse, "we don't do photo-ops."
Our response has been pathetic. What we need is someone with brass ones to grab 20 photos of bloated corpses, and with Brown and Chertoff's video behind them, just after they said, "We are doing great" and slowly show photo after photo to the camera. Are we doing that? HELL NO. Why not? Is that unfair?: is it too harsh? oh, too bloody bad. IT IS THE BLOODY BLOATED STINKING TRUTH. And the truth is precisely what we need.
We are more concerned about appearing nice. Well, our brothers and sisters have died and still are dying. THAT IS THE TRUTH, and it is not getting out.
WHERE THE HELL ARE WE? Except for the Black Caucus and Al Gore, we are MIA. Seeking a commission? how about seeking a commision to determine whether we need a commision? Our leaders and elected officials have to have the slinky-est spines covered with the largest stripe of yellow ever imagined.

but I'll answer you.
I've been a good American raising my kids, being a wife, paying my bills, paying my taxes, and all the other normal boring things that most Americans do.
I started getting more active just about a year ago right before the last 'election'. I got fed up with the 'compassionate conservatism', RW fundies telling people how to live their lives, the fucking war and the rest of the neocon agenda.
I've been more active in the last year than I ever thought of. I volunteer, donate whatever I can, make phone calls, email, and make visits.
I went to Walmart three days ago to find out what they were doing and when I got told about the million bucks, I met with the lady in our local store who handles donations. I expressed my dismay at the poor response. Not sure how much good it did, but I doing something is better than sitting and doing nothing.
