"We Will Kick Them Out Using Force"-FEMA Official |
|
I was watching Aaron Brown this morning, and that caught my ear. I understand the viewpoints of many (Get them out!) and I agree with that viewpoint, but FEMA was speaking like they will enact the NG or RM to use force to get the people out of their homes.
I had quite a long stay in New Orleans, in the good part of town and in the bad, and I can tell you some of those folks will not stand down. They simply do not trust the government. Things could get dicey if the remaining people choose to defy the government's orders.
Both sides should expect trouble.

2. Fortuntely Honore took control |
|
and he's kicking FEMA's butt. He's not taking anymore of their shit and they were last seen slinking off into a deep, dark hole somewhere.
The National Guard are running the rescue part of the show now.

I saw an ex-marine NO resident earlier determined to stay put & he's well armed, too. He depicted a scene where he has utilized his weapons defending himself against looters. He stated he missed by accident. He explained that he is 69 and not as good a shot as he once was.

To what? What will be their future?
It's pretty terrible to think any of us would have to be in such a position.
I have to say I honestly don't understand why residents of New Orleans are being evacuated so far from their home and taken to other states.
Flooded or not, New Orleans is their HOME. It's what they know.
They're scared. And they have a right to be.

5. I wasn't making any judgments, |

only stating what I saw. I understand they are fearful; however, there will come a point at which they will not be allowed an alternative.

7. there are always choices... |
|
after what i've witnessed this last week, i don't know that i'd go anywhere that this government had that much control over me, especially after what they've already been through. Its like going to a detention center.

These people will die in their homes. It's the southern way. My father will not leave his farm for anything..tornadoes, floods, etc. He's still persisting there.

8. If they would refuse to let my dogs accompany me, MY CHILDREN, then |
|
I would fight them to stay - it would be over my dead body and I would take a couple of "our boys" (sarcasm off) with me!
I would DARE them to force me to leave my beautiful golden boys and girl behind!

instead of wasting time harassing citizens, they should get their assess in overdrive to clean up the mess, get power back on, drain the water and sewage, recover corpses, and restore services. What, seven days now, and the Government is still down there wanking off. Our tax dollars at work. I'm fucking impressed.

in even the best of circumstances, now that the damage is done. It's not a safe place to be, and won't be for a long while.

until the Government gets their collective head out of their collective ass and get to work, instead of fucking around and searching for photo ops.
