"US TV swings to hurricane outrage"
Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 01:04 AM by AussieDave
From the Courier-Mail in Brisbane Australia:

"IN the emotional aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, US television's often deferential treatment of government officials has been replaced by fiercely combative interviews and scathing commentary.

As the scale of carnage became clear and the Government was seen as tardy in its response, TV news anchors and reporters dropped their dispassionate reserve in favour of stinging comments straight from the heart.

"We talk to mothers holding babies, some of these babies three, four, five-months-old, living in horrible conditions," the usually urbane CNN reporter Anderson Cooper told viewers from New Orleans last week.

"These people are being forced to live like animals. People need to see what it's really like here. People are dying at the convention centre, and there's no one coming to get them," the anguished journalist said as US officials insisted that the rescue operation was in hand."

Could this be the media finally awakening from its collective coma and going after the Busheviks ?? Did it have to take a disaster like Katrina to finally open people's eyes ??

2. Not. They haven't a clue. It's all an exercise in balancing their
hate mail to show their balanced. It's crazy.

3. I wouldn't trust the corporate media at all
however Anderson Copper has gained some of my respect over the last week.

I hope he decides to be a real journalist from here on out.

5. No, they're spinning this, too.
They're trying to redirect blame to the New Orleans and Louisiana local govt.

6. Tomorrow is ACCOUNTABILITY DAY!
Call for the immediate resignation of the current administration. We are demanding accountability and calling our elected representatives starting 8 am tomorrow morning (Tues 9-6) in Washington D. C. and asking them to do their jobs by representing the voices of the people. If they do not honor their obligation to their constituents, we will hold them accountable, as well.

Please let the people know that tomorrow is ACCOUNTABILITY DAY!

Peace.:patriot:

10. I guess some of you guys
didn't watch Olbermann last night...

He is on a rampage and he's not going to be put off it too easily.

He's mad as hell...and what's more, his attitude toward the administration is hardly anything new.
