ABC Good Morning America: Gov Blanco facing questions from
residents and evacuees in a "town hall" meeting. This is exactly where the smirking Bush should be. Still waiting for Diane Sawyer to say, "We asked the President to appear. He declined."

I won't hold my breath for that quote. I'm sick of the MSM's deferential attitude toward this disastrous administration.

5. Some of that may be accurate
but I'd say mostly in the first few days, up until Saturday or so.

I give the media credit for forcing the feds/Bush into action. Without their work in NOLA, people might still be dying in great numbers at the Convention Center and the SuperDome.

However, I have seen in the last two or three days a definite shift in the media's tone. This is not over and I wish they were still pushing as hard as they did from Day 1-4 or 5.

Note: I hate treating "the media" as a monolith, but for purposes of discussion it's easier. Obviously I think there are a few here and there in the press who aren't letting up. I'm addressing a general overall tone.
