GMA- hurrican victims townhall right now- how will it be, I wonder? |
|
Good morning america is doing town halls with hurricane victims, reps from federal govt and Blanco. It is very cool that they are doing this- I wonder how it will go.
Will it be filled with plants who aren't outraged at Bush (like they did during the election)? I hope not.
We haven't even heard much from these hardest-hit victims yet- they haven't voted in the polls, they haven't been online like we have. Once they begin getting their voices out I hope the outrage against Bush increases 10 fold!!

3. so far just 2 "soft ball" questions |
|
like the little girl asking when she can go home.
When will the hard questions come??
Just when it looks like the media is becoming more like journalists in the true sense of the word, this is probably going to just dissapoint!

4. Some victims say that distant relatives are telling them that |
|
"some people" are trying to politicize the slow response and of course these plain folks are just disgusted that someone might want to blame George Bush Jr. for nearly killing them.
I'm ready to let the whole thing go now because the media will turn everything to blame Blanco. The other governors will get off ok because they are Repubs.

Good. Let this jerk try to explain to these people why this happened. I dare him.
On edit: Oh, oops. Spoke too soon. Back to the "are people politicizing this" questions.
Damn it. Still, good for the lady who was mad at him.

8. the FEMA guy didn't do too bad with the politicizing questions-- I know |
|
they are all under orders to stand by how the federal govt has acted (I know someone in FEMA). At least he agreed some tough questions had to be asked.
Now someone is asking where everyone was for NO- Why did it take so long?? You go girl!!
And Blanco is saying they didn't have enough resources!!

10. Blanco is saying they were begging for more resources- it took too long |
|
She isn't really sticking it to Bush, but she is saying that they needed boats and helicopters, and didn't get them soon enough.
