People are going to die from lack of followup medical care |
|
8 days after the storm, 3 days after the military enters the area, and the local officials in some counties are still clueless about getting people their medicines... and there is no guidance from the state medical people
Per scanner transmission last night:
A resident asked how she/he could get their (prescription) potassium pills filled. The county worker calls the state and says "Do we need a doctor order to refill this and HOW can we refill this with all the hospitals/pharmacies shut down, and we have no way of even checking this person's potassium level to see if the pills should be taken". We have no doctor here at this location He finally reached a doc at the state level who gave them no answers except "we'll send them in the morning" and "we are not prepared to help with chronic medicines".
If that HUGE medical ship is docked off the coast of LA, why the HELL cannot they not have some sort of command center on these ships for these kind of problems??
The people may have survived the storm, but they are slowly getting killed by the people in "charge".
