Which is worse - Bush reading to children during the 9/11 attacks or
Bush waiting 3-4 days to begin rescuing those trapped from the flood waters?

4. It's All the Same
Our country does not have a leader. I guess it was worse at 9/11 because we still expected something from him. Now we don't expect and we don't get.

5. Flood. Unless his excuse was that he didn't want to say anything so as
not to scare the children again?

7. Uhm, can we NOT rank his failures?
He seems to treat any commentary about his "greatest failure ever" as a personal challenge. I'd hate to see him try to top either Hurricane Katrina or September 11.

15. Let's not tempt fate by letting him not respond to a major
earthquake in SF bay area and hit the FEMA disaster trifecta.

9. A correction
He wasn't "reading to the children", he was holding the book (upside down) and waiting (As Bill Mahar said) for the "piss to dry".

As far as which was worse, seems to me being told "America is under attack" and then freezing is somewhat understandable (10 seconds max) but waiting DAYS before responding to a major city drowning is beyond the pale.

12. It all goes to feed the theory that he is merely a puppet
and that there is a chain of decision makers behind him.

I'm not huge on the 'shadow government' theory, but he and Reagan are/were proof that all they need is a relatively good looking white male to prop up as leader and to make speeches with key words every now-and-then.

The puppet can only react as quickly as the masters can make it. Scary how these things totally line up.

13. The Answer Is Yes
Neither is even remotely excusable. They are equally bad performances by a horribly incompetent empty suit, in WAY over his head.

14. How I wish My Pet Goat would resurface right now in media!
This is the sort of thing that must happen. Katrina response is not isolated. What happened in New Orleans is emblematic of this administration during the last 5 years and My Pet Goat is a perfect example to revisit.
